    I had been making jewelry for some time for friends and for fundraisers for the church I was attending at the time, but it was not anything extravagant by any means. I played with the idea of doing shows, but never really wanted to.     I have always loved gemstones and jewelry. When I was young, a trip to Washington, DC had our family stopping at the Smithsonian Institute, where the display of rocks, minerals, and gemstone had us enthralled.
